Interested in duck eggs?

Duck eggs are usually larger than chicken eggs, higher in protein and calories.  They are great fried or mixed with chicken eggs and scrambled.  Bakers often say duck eggs are superior due to their large yokes. The bad news is that ducks love digging in the dirt and making messes.  This means their eggs are usually also dirty.  Our Welsh Harlequin ducks don’t give us enough eggs to sell dozens at a time.  But we can sell a “Dirty Dozen” mix of duck and chicken eggs (limited availability).  Usually we would try to sell clean chicken eggs and eat the dirty ones ourselves but we know anyone buying duck eggs understands even dirty eggs will wash up nicely.  Usually duck eggs would cost more but a “Dirty Dozen” costs the same because you are buying eggs that are less visually appealing.
